Laura Heim has received her license to practice architecture in Maine. We are beginning two new charming camp projects in Southern Maine. With a deep respect for vernacular wooden architecture, which led to a Columbia University funded travel grant to research Scandinavian wooden architecture from the turn of the century, Laura Heim will approach these new projects using simple materials, wood and stone, to recreate the quintessential “campy” feeling enjoyed in regional lakeside cottages, which are called “camps” throughout Maine.
