Invited by AIA Newark & Suburban, Laura Heim was pleased to present Restoring Neighborhoods in Queens – Sunnyside and Beyond in West Orange, NJ. The presentation focused on the firm’s incremental restoration work in Queens, beginning in Sunnyside Gardens and then moving beyond to Jamaica, Queens, covering both residential and commercial work. When the restoration of the streetscape occurs gradually over time, it is an incremental process which is very impactful and effective in creating a greater sense of community.
