Laura Heim’s watercolor, “Sunrise Through the Clouds,” has won an honorable mention in the BHS 25th Annual Winter Art Show. More than 60 local artists submitted images of their work, now exhibited in virtual galleries on the Bayside Historical Society website. Here are the jury’s comments:

Honorable Mention: “This artist appears to handle the watercolor in a rather stylized simplified manner, with the emphasis on the great expansiveness of the sky and all those organic patterns, while playing down the water in the foreground and the flanking foliage on either side. It’s simple yet effective.”
