The Greater Astoria Historical Society invited Laura Heim to participate in a presentation commemorating the 90th anniversary of Sunnyside Gardens. “Sunnyside Gardens at 90” reviewed the origins and significance of this garden suburb and the campaign to gain designation as a historic district. Laura Heim showed how she has worked with homeowners to restore and upgrade their properties under the regulation of the Landmarks Preservation Commission and at the same time provide them with a design that accommodates contemporary living.
