Heim Architect is proud to have restored 8 abandoned houses in Jamaica and Far Rockaway over the past 7 years as part of HPD’s Small Homes Rehab-NYCHA Program. NYCHA partnered with the NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD) and the non-profit, Neighborhood Restore HDFC to renovate 18 homes in this cycle but since 2016, 61 homes have been restored. Heim Architect worked with Restored Homes on 4 abandoned houses in Queens beginning in 2017 and then continued with a second group of 4 beginning in 2019. It was an honor to have the ribbon cutting ceremony for the entire program held today at one of the Heim Architect’s restored homes in Jamaica, Queens.
